Lake Agnes and Teahouse

Jeremy and I hiked 7km with a 400m elevation change to Lake Agnes and a teahouse. It was snowing lightly and about -12. We climbed up to Mirror Lake and the Beehive mountain and ended at Lake Agnes and a teahouse whixh was closed and very snowed over.

As we started Jeremy took this nice picture of my rose red hat and cedar leaf shawlette

We finally reached Mirror Lake with the beehive in the background. You can also see the teahouse in the trees which we hiked up to. Here is Mirror Lake in the summer here and here is what we saw....

As we continued we were up in the clouds and got some hazy cloudy pics:
(the third picture down, in the middle, between the trees is Chateau Lake Louise, just to see how high up we were)

We climbed some very icy steep snow covered stairs to finally reach Lake Agnes and the teahouse. Here is what they look like in the summer:

This is what we saw, still beautiful but definatly frozen:

Really good hike, took us a few hours. There are many more we want to do but they will be for other trips. This hike we`d also like to do again in the summer or fall to see what the water colour looks like for ourselves.

  1. The contrasting pictures of summer and winter are really striking in that they are both very beautiful scenery. I think Isaac and I would be interested in these hikes too if it's not too cold out.
